Important information for Chairs & Speakers

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CHAIRS AND SPEAKERS

LANGUAGE

There are seven official languages of the Congress (Italian, English, French, German, Spanish, Russian and Chinese). Each presenter will be able to decide in which language to present.

Simultaneous translation will be provided only for Plenary and Symposia Sessions in “Aula Magna”

ORAL COMMUNICATION

Each classroom is equipped with a Windows-based laptop with PowerPoint installed and a projector available

  • There are no speakers’ preview rooms so speakers must arrive with their own presentation on a USB flash drive and project it independently.
  • The preferred file format is .PPTX rather than .ppt.
  • Using your own computer is not permitted
  • The projection format will be 16:9 aspect ratio so slide presentations should be set in the same format
  • It is strongly recommended that you use a clear font, and font size should never be less than 18pts. 24pts is optimal and highly suggested
  • It is highly suggested to prepare bullet points presentations and to, keep your points short and concise, to easily engage your audience.
  • Video files attached to power point presentations must be in the following format: *.mpg, *.mpeg, *.avi or *.wmv. The format *.mov (quick time) is NOT accepted. When saving the final presentations on a USB stick, make sure you have a copy of the video. Each Contributed Paper may be presented by only one person who will have 20 minutes (15 to present and 5 for Q&A)

We kindly ask the moderators to enforce the designated time limits.

There is no video-recording service in the congress halls.

One technician is provided for every two lecture halls, and speakers may be assisted by support staff if needed.
