Items Not To Be Forgotten At Home

Headphones: useful for following the simultaneous translation of the speeches to be held in the Aula Magna.
Water bottle: to reduce the use of disposable plastic, you can refill your water bottle at one of the many drinking fountains you will find on the University Campus

Information for simultaneous translation

For the sessions taking place in the Aula Magna only, simultaneous translation will be available through, downloading the translation app. The QR code to download the app will be accessible from the signs present in the Aula Magna

Child Policy

The Congress does not provide childcare. Children under the age of 14 may enter the entire Congress venue without payment of the registration fee.

Wi-Fi

Free wireless internet service will be available.
You can find more information on accessing the wifi printed on your badge
Sapienza adheres to Eduroam, you will then need to authenticate through the “geteduroam” App. When you connect to Eduroam all you have to do is activate the wifi on your device and connect to the network.

Language

The general language for communication of the Congress is English. Papers can be presented in any of the 7 languages of the congress. Simultaneous translation will be provided only for plenary and symposia sessions in Aula Magna.
Each participant must use their own earplugs/earphones to listen to traslations. It is not possible to use phone speakers.

Certificate of Attendance

Certificates of participation in the Congress can be downloaded online by logging into your User Area up to 30 days after the conclusion of the event. An email will be sent to inform all participants of the correct procedure or it can be printed on site by scanning at self accreditation the QR code on the badge

Time Zone

CET (Central European Time) applies throughout Italy. From early autumn to late winter, standard time applies, corresponding to the time zone UTC+1, one hour ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.

Tourist Card

You can easily get around Rome and visit its fantastic attractions by bus, subway (“Metropolitana”), taxi and walking. If you plan to stay for 3 days or more, we encourage you to consider buying a “Roma Pass” tourist card.

How to reach the Congress venue

From/To Fiumicino Airport

Leonardo Express

At the Airport’s railway station the Shuttle-Train Leonardo Express is a 32 minute direct service to Termini Railway Station, running every 30 minutes (every 15 minutes at peak times). Tickets can be purchased on the Trenitalia website, at the ticket office and kiosk ticket machines, at travel agents, authorized retailers and at Trenitalia counters near platforms.

FL1 train

The FL1 service to Tiburtina Railway Station takes 48 minutes and leaves every 15 minutes on week days and every 30 minutes on weekends and on Holidays. The train also stops at the following Stations: Parco Leonardo, Fiera di Roma, Ponte Galeria, Muratella, Magliana, Villa Bonelli, Trastevere, Ostiense (where there is a connection with the Metro B Line) and Tuscolana.

By Bus

There are many bus lines serving the Termini Station and other stations: Cotral service (public service), Atral Bus, Gaspari Bus, Terravision, SIT Bus, TAM.

By Taxi

Taxis to the city centre are located at the exits of both the domestic and international arrival terminals.

From/To Ciampino Airport

By Train

Ciampino railway station is reached by special buses from the airport. The train, which leaves every 15 minutes, takes 10 minutes to get to Rome Termini (Metro A & B).

By Bus

Bus lines to Termini Station: ATAC, Cotral, Gaspari Bus, Terravision, SIT bus

By Taxi

Taxis to the city centre stop at the small stand right in front of the airport itself.

For those arriving at Rome Termini, Sapienza Campus Congress venue is within walking distance.

Parking
Participants will need to park their car outside the Sapienza University campus. Close to the campus there are free outdoor parking spaces, pay parking and guarded garages for a fee.

The official currency is the Euro €. You will find several change offices and banks at the airports and in the city centre. Banks are open on working days, generally between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Before changing your money, we advise you to ask about the commission charge. You can also withdraw cash at an ATM.
